On Friday, September 25, 2026, ICCF hosted a U.S. Congressional staff briefing on the theme of "Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) and Enduring Earth." The session brought together leaders from the conservation, philanthropic, and private sectors to examine how innovative public‑private partnerships can stretch limited public dollars to deliver durable conservation outcomes.

The discussion centered on how PFPs align government commitments with philanthropic and private capital — using public funding to leverage additional resources, de‑risk investment, and secure long‑term financing for conservation and community development. Panelists provided background on the structure of PFPs, where they have been deployed globally, and how these models are helping governments and communities protect critical landscapes while advancing stability and sustainable growth.

The briefing featured Jamie Williams, Senior Vice President for Durable Conservation and Finance at WWF; Shubash Lohani, Senior Director of Global Conservation Initiatives at The Pew Charitable Trusts; and Tom Geier, Vice President and Head of the Americas for Government Affairs and Public Policy at HP. Together, they highlighted the growing momentum behind PFPs and the Enduring Earth collaborative, underscoring how coordinated investment can secure lasting conservation at scale.

ICCF extends its appreciation to the panelists and to the Congressional staff who joined us for this timely briefing. We look forward to continuing to support bipartisan engagement on effective, financially sustainable conservation solutions.
