ICCF hosted a panel discussion on Marine Debris: Domestic Policy Towards a Global Plastics Treaty, moderated by The Honourable Barry Gardiner, Co-Chair of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on International Conservation.

Discussion focused on policy mechanisms that can reduce use of plastics and tackle plastic waste and other forms of marine debris and highlighted support for policy coherence on this issue. Panelists included The Honorable Elizabeth Jay Pang Diaz, Co-President, Colombia Conservation Caucus and Colombia Oceans Caucus; The Honorable Eduardo Murat Hinojosa, Co-Chair, Mexican Conservation and Ocean Caucuses; The Honorable Senator Lisa Jawahir, Co-Chair of St. Lucia Conservation Caucus; The Honorable Francisco Mucanheia, Advisor to the President of Mozambique; and Hendra Yusran Siry, Acting Expert Staff to the Minister for Economic, Social and Cultural Affairs and Head of the Marine Research Center (Kapusriskel) at the Maritime and Fisheries Research and Human Resources Agency (Indonesia).
